Football

Football, commonly referred to as soccer in some countries, is a team sport played between two teams of eleven players each. The objective is to score goals by getting a ball into the opposing team’s net. Players primarily use their feet to maneuver the ball, but they can also use their heads and torsos. The game is typically played on a rectangular field, known as a pitch, with a goal at each end.

Matches consist of two halves, usually lasting 45 minutes each, and are officiated by a referee. Football is governed by a set of rules known as the Laws of the Game, established by the International Football Association Board (IFAB). The most prestigious international competition in football is the FIFA World Cup, held every four years.

Football is one of the most popular sports worldwide, with millions of players and billions of fans. It is known for its rich history, cultural significance, and the ability to bring people together across diverse backgrounds.
