Ceasefire

A ceasefire is an agreement between warring parties to stop fighting temporarily or indefinitely. It is often established to allow for negotiations, humanitarian aid delivery, or a reduction in hostilities. Ceasefires can take various forms, including unilateral (where one side stops fighting) or bilateral (where both sides agree to halt combat). The primary goal of a ceasefire is to create a pause in violence to facilitate peace talks or to provide relief and safety for civilians caught in conflict. Ceasefires can be fragile and may be violated if the parties involved do not have the intent to reach a lasting peace or if underlying tensions remain unresolved.
